Indiana – Bitterly cold temperatures and dangerous wind chills continue to grip central Indiana, with the National Weather Service warning of conditions as low as -20°F. Residents across the state, especially along major routes like I-65, are urged to take precautions. The cold weather advisory remains in effect until 10 a.m. Wednesday.

According to the National Weather Service in Indianapolis, wind chills between -10°F and -20°F are expected to persist through Tuesday. Temperatures will struggle to reach double digits today, with highs near 13°F. Tonight will bring scattered flurries and a low of 1°F. Frostbite on exposed skin is possible within 30 minutes in these conditions.

Travelers should be prepared for icy roads and reduced visibility. Commuters along I-70 and I-69 are advised to drive cautiously, especially in rural areas where drifting snow remains an issue.

Looking ahead, temperatures on Tuesday will stay bitterly cold, with a high near 8°F and wind chills as low as -11°F. Slight improvements are expected Wednesday, with a high of 22°F. A chance of light flurries returns Thursday, but a warming trend into the weekend offers some relief, with highs nearing 39°F by Saturday.

Residents are advised to limit outdoor exposure, wear layered clothing, and keep pets indoors. Anyone traveling should carry emergency supplies, including blankets and water. For updates, visit weather.gov.
