Pontiac, MI – A former Oakland County physician has pleaded no contest to 31 counts of sexual misconduct and related charges following an extensive investigation by the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, officials announced Friday.

According to Sheriff Michael J. Bouchard, 41-year-old Oumair Aejaz entered the plea Thursday in connection with two separate cases. Under Michigan law, a no contest plea carries the same legal effect as a guilty plea.

The case began in August 2024, when Aejaz’s wife alerted authorities after discovering that he had allegedly been secretly recording her, their two children, and other female relatives inside their home. Investigators later uncovered additional recordings from the Goldfish Swim School in Rochester Hills, where other victims were filmed without consent.

Detectives said the evidence revealed a broader pattern of exploitation, and the investigation remains ongoing. Authorities believe additional assaults may have occurred at medical facilities in other jurisdictions.

Based on his plea, Aejaz was found guilty of First and Second Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct, Child Sexually Abusive Commercial Activity, and multiple counts of Using a Computer to Commit a Crime and Capturing or Distributing Images of an Unclothed Person.

Aejaz faces a mandatory minimum of 25 years in prison, with sentencing scheduled for December 2 at 9:00 a.m. in Oakland County’s Sixth Circuit Court.

Sheriff Bouchard said the case highlights the importance of holding those in positions of trust accountable: “No one should ever abuse their authority to exploit others. This plea brings an important measure of justice for the victims.”
