California’s North Coast is wrapped in mist and light rain this morning, with visibility down to less than a mile in parts of Eureka. Streetlights glow through the haze, and damp pavement along U.S. 101 is slick for early drivers. Temperatures hover near 54 degrees under low gray clouds.

According to the National Weather Service in Eureka, showers remain likely through the morning with a 60% chance of rain and light accumulations under a tenth of an inch. Skies stay mostly cloudy today, and highs reach about 56 degrees. Winds remain light, but roads could stay wet through the afternoon.

Clouds linger tonight with lows dipping to 43 degrees. Thursday brings partial sunshine and a modest rebound to 60 degrees. Patchy fog may develop late Thursday night, reducing visibility again before sunrise.

Friday offers a brief Spring Tease, with partly sunny skies and highs climbing to 63 degrees. That break will be short-lived. Rain chances increase again late Friday night into Saturday, with showers likely and highs near 60 degrees. Another round of rain continues into Saturday night and possibly Sunday.

While temperatures remain well above freezing, cool nights and wet pavement can still create slick spots in shaded areas. Allow extra space between vehicles during heavier showers.

Early next week trends slightly drier with highs near the lower 60s. Longer-range outlooks suggest near to slightly above normal temperatures heading into early March.
