Eureka, Calif. – Interior valleys of Northern California will see dangerous heat through Wednesday, with highs topping 105°F in places like Trinity Center, Weaverville, and Hoopa before easing into the 90s later this week. Coastal communities will remain shielded from the worst of the heat, holding steady in the 60s thanks to overnight stratus and fog.

According to the National Weather Service in Eureka, the most intense heat will occur Monday through Wednesday, with highs of 107°F in Weaverville and Willow Creek. The cooler shift arrives Thursday as highs dip into the mid-to-upper 90s for inland areas, though some valleys may still feel above-normal warmth.

Residents in the hottest zones are urged to limit outdoor activity during peak afternoon hours, stay hydrated, and never leave pets or children in vehicles. Coastal towns such as Crescent City, Eureka, and Fort Bragg will see highs in the 60s to low 70s all week, but inland travel could mean a sharp temperature jump of 30–40 degrees.

Temperatures are expected to moderate further into the weekend, with inland highs in the upper 80s by Sunday.
