EUREKA, Calif. – Coastal drivers across Humboldt County should expect patchy fog and damp conditions through the end of the week, with light showers possible by early Friday. The National Weather Service reports visibility could be limited overnight and during morning commutes, especially along U.S. Highway 101 near Eureka and Arcata.
According to the National Weather Service office in Eureka, a 20 percent chance of showers develops after 2 a.m. Friday, with another slight chance of rain lingering through the morning hours. Otherwise, the region remains mostly cloudy with daytime highs holding near the mid-60s. Winds will stay light, occasionally shifting from northwest to southwest as the system moves through.
Saturday offers a brief break with partly sunny skies, though fog is expected to return at night. Early next week, a weak disturbance could bring another round of light rain by Tuesday, continuing the unsettled pattern along the North Coast.
Residents are advised to allow extra travel time during foggy hours and keep headlights on low beam for safety.
Weather conditions remain mostly stable, but forecasters note that fog and occasional light rain chances will continue through midweek.
