EUREKA, Calif. – The North Coast is settling into a stretch of calm, mild fall weather this week, featuring sunny afternoons, cool nights, and occasional fog along the shoreline. After a string of clear days, a few patches of late-night fog may return midweek as ocean moisture drifts inland.

According to the National Weather Service in Eureka, daytime highs will remain steady near 60°F through Friday with light northwest winds under mostly sunny skies. Overnight lows will dip into the upper 40s as skies clear, creating ideal conditions for morning fog near Humboldt Bay, Arcata, and Fortuna.

Wednesday night and Thursday morning could bring patchy coastal fog before sunshine dominates again by midday. Mariners and morning commuters on U.S. Highway 101 should watch for reduced visibility along low-lying stretches near Fields Landing and McKinleyville. Otherwise, dry and tranquil conditions will persist through late week.

Forecasters expect only minor changes heading into the weekend. A weak Pacific front may brush the coast late Saturday night or Sunday, bringing a few light showers and slightly cooler air but no major impacts.

Residents can expect another pleasant stretch of coastal fall weather — cool mornings, gentle afternoon breezes, and plenty of sun for outdoor projects or oceanfront walks.
