Eureka, CA – The National Weather Service in Eureka has issued a patchy dense fog alert for interior and coastal river valleys across northwest California early Saturday, November 8, 2025, warning of significantly reduced visibility during morning travel hours.

According to the weather service, fog will lower visibility to 400 yards or less in portions of Humboldt, Del Norte, and Trinity counties. Conditions are expected to gradually improve by mid-morning as temperatures rise.

Drivers are urged to reduce speed, allow extra travel time, and use low-beam headlights when visibility drops. The NWS also reminds motorists to remain alert at intersections and crosswalks and to avoid single-lane highways with oncoming traffic when possible.

Residents should also be on the lookout for pedestrians, bicyclists, and animals that may be difficult to see in dense fog.

The National Weather Service advises checking local forecasts for updates and allowing extra time for morning commutes until conditions clear.
