Eureka, CA – The National Weather Service in Eureka has issued a Frost Advisory for parts of northwest California as colder air moves into the region, bringing the potential for near-freezing temperatures Monday and Tuesday mornings.
Forecasters said the frost threat will affect Humboldt and Del Norte coastal areas Monday morning, while colder inland valleys are expected to see frost develop Tuesday morning when skies clear further overnight.
Residents are advised to protect sensitive plants and provide shelter for pets, as temperatures may drop into the low to mid-30s in rural and sheltered areas.
The cold pattern follows a weekend of dry, clear weather, with light winds and increased radiational cooling overnight.
The NWS said frost chances will lessen later in the week as temperatures slowly moderate. For localized details, residents can visit weather.gov/eka and enter their community for updated forecasts.
