Eureka residents should prepare for freezing temperatures and increasing chances of rain as a Cold Weather Advisory remains in effect until 9 a.m. Sunday. Temperatures could drop as low as 30°F overnight, with wind chills between 21°F and 30°F, creating hazardous conditions.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), frost will continue through Monday night, with temperatures dipping to the low 30s. By Tuesday night, rain will move in, bringing a 40% chance of precipitation, which increases to likely rain by Wednesday. Daytime highs will stay in the upper 40s to low 50s, but overnight conditions will remain cold.

Residents are urged to dress in layers, wear gloves, and limit outdoor exposure, especially during the coldest hours between midnight and sunrise. Pets should be kept indoors, and portable heaters should be used safely to avoid carbon monoxide hazards.

Travelers along Highway 101 should be cautious of icy conditions in the mornings. Frost and possible freezing rain could impact visibility and road safety.

The cold snap is expected to ease slightly by Thursday, but wet conditions may persist. Stay updated with local forecasts for any additional weather advisories.
