Erie County, PA – Pennsylvania State Police are asking for the public’s help after a hit-and-run crash in Harborcreek Township earlier this week.

According to PSP Troop E – Erie, the incident occurred Sunday, Sept. 7, 2025, around 4:40 p.m. on the 8700 block of East Lake Road in Harborcreek Township, Erie County. While responding to the crash, a trooper spotted the suspected vehicle on State Route 5 near Bonnie Brae Street. When the trooper attempted a safe U-turn, the vehicle was already gone.

Investigators said the truck is described as an early 2000s Chevrolet Silverado, black in color—possibly matte or spray-painted—with a silver bed-style toolbox in the back. The truck likely has heavy passenger-side damage, including the headlight area. Parts from a Chevrolet were recovered at the scene, police noted.

The suspected driver is believed to be a white male, troopers said.

Anyone with information is urged to contact PSP Erie at 814-898-1641, the PSP Tips Line at 1-800-472-8477, or submit tips online at p3tips.com.

State police reminded the public that all callers to PSP Tips may be eligible for a cash reward if their information helps lead to an arrest or the location of a suspect or missing person.
