BUFFALO, N.Y. – Erie County Sheriff John C. Garcia announced the arrest of Jerry Green, 38, of Depew, following a multi-agency investigation into drug trafficking across southern Erie County. The operation, involving Buffalo and Depew Police along with state environmental officers, led to the discovery of methamphetamine, fentanyl, and an alligator.

According to the Erie County Sheriff’s Office, deputies executed search warrants in Buffalo, Depew, and Concord as part of a narcotics investigation. On November 4, Green was pulled over during a traffic stop in Concord and taken into custody without incident.

Deputies later searched two properties, recovering over two ounces of suspected methamphetamine, along with fentanyl and drug paraphernalia. At a residence on Montclair Avenue, investigators also found a large alligator kept in a makeshift heated pool inside a backyard shed. Environmental Conservation officers safely took custody of the animal.

Green faces multiple charges, including criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminally using drug paraphernalia. He was transported to the Erie County Holding Center pending arraignment.

Sheriff Garcia said, “Our Narcotics and Intelligence Unit is taking a targeted approach to root out dangerous drug activity that has plagued our communities for too long.”
