Buffalo, NY – Crime Stoppers WNY is offering a reward of up to $7,500 for information leading to an arrest or indictment in the homicide of Cynthia Salter, whose remains were recently identified nearly 30 years after she disappeared.

According to Crime Stoppers WNY, Salter was reported missing on November 15, 1994, after last being seen in Buffalo, where she worked as a cab driver. The following year, human remains were discovered near 283 East Amherst Street in Buffalo, but investigators were unable to confirm the victim’s identity at that time.

In October 2025, new forensic DNA technology confirmed that those remains belonged to Salter, officially linking her to the unsolved homicide case. Investigators have now reopened the investigation and are seeking the public’s help to find those responsible.

At the time of her disappearance, Salter was described as approximately 5’2” tall and 130 pounds. Crime Stoppers urges anyone with information—no matter how small—to come forward.
