Elmhurst, Illinois — At the Elmhurst City Council meeting on Monday night, Mayor Scott Levin honored 100 years of the Elmhurst Police Department with a proclamation.
The proclamation recognized the history of the police department and its founding in 1925. It acknowledged the growth of the department and the City as the police have served its residents. The proclamation said the department has been “instrumental in pioneering law enforcement advancements, investigative techniques, community policing strategies, and regional collaboration” with other DuPage County law officials.
Levin, in the proclamation, recognized the hard work of officers over the last 100 years and noted that the department’s anniversary presents an opportunity to reflect on that work and celebrate it.
Levin proclaimed July 2025 as “Elmhurst Police Department 100th Anniversary.”
