Fort Worth — Portions of North and Central Texas will experience elevated fire weather conditions today, according to the National Weather Service Fort Worth office.

High temperatures are expected to climb into the mid-50s to mid-60s, with wind gusts of 20–25 mph and humidity levels between 15–20 percent. These conditions will promote an elevated fire threat, particularly in areas near and west of Interstate 35. Residents are urged to use caution, as dry and windy conditions can allow fires to spread rapidly.

By tonight, conditions will change sharply, with widespread freezing temperatures expected across the region. Overnight lows are forecast to fall into the upper 20s to lower 30s, including the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex and surrounding communities.

Looking ahead, temperatures through the week will generally remain in the 50s and lower 60s. The National Weather Service notes isolated to scattered rain chances on Wednesday, mainly for areas near and east of I-35, with precipitation probabilities ranging from 20 to 50 percent depending on location.

Residents are encouraged to stay informed as conditions shift from fire weather concerns to colder temperatures and potential midweek rainfall. Additional updates are available at weather.gov/fwd.
