El Paso, Texas – Brutal heat returns to far West Texas this weekend, with El Paso expected to hit 103°F Friday and soar to 107°F by Monday. Triple-digit temperatures will dominate the borderland through Father’s Day and early next week, posing a serious risk to anyone spending time outdoors.

According to the National Weather Service in El Paso, the heat will intensify each day through Monday, peaking at 104°F on Saturday, 107°F on Sunday and again Monday. Light wind offers little relief, and overnight lows will struggle to drop below the upper 70s. Prolonged exposure may lead to heat exhaustion or heat stroke — especially for those working or traveling midday.

Residents are urged to limit outdoor activity between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m., stay hydrated, and use air conditioning when possible. If traveling along I-10 or Loop 375, be cautious of heat-related vehicle stress and plan morning departures. Pets and children should never be left in parked cars, even for a minute.

Saturday and Sunday will both be mostly clear, with strong sun and dry conditions. No rain is in the forecast. This stretch marks the hottest period since last summer and could signal an early start to monsoon prep for the region.

Warnings remain possible through early next week. The NWS may issue a heat advisory if conditions worsen.
