Effingham, IL – Multiple Effingham County residents have been sentenced to lengthy federal prison terms after being convicted in connection with methamphetamine distribution, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Illinois.
According to federal prosecutors, the sentences followed coordinated investigations involving the Effingham Police Department, the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office, the Southeastern Illinois Drug Task Force, and the Effingham County State’s Attorney’s Office. Officials said the joint efforts aimed to reduce meth distribution in the region.
Among those sentenced was Jeramy C. Hoffman, 49, of Effingham, who received 110 months in prison for two counts of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. On the same charge, Corey W. Dasenbrock, 48, also of Effingham, was sentenced to 110 months. Hayden L. Limes, 29, of Effingham, was sentenced to 96 months, while Taylor K. Nathan, 31, received 84 months.
Robert J. Beckler, 55, of Effingham, was sentenced to 120 months for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute, and being a felon in possession of a firearm. Russell A. Beldi, 45, of Teutopolis, received 120 months, and Jodi L. Corbella, 48, of Citrus Heights, California, was sentenced to 144 months for supplying methamphetamine to Beldi.
Jesse D. Blain, 40, of Effingham, received a 60-month sentence for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. Each sentence also included periods of supervised release ranging from three to five years.
Additionally, prosecutors announced that three more Effingham residents — Chelsea J. Sipes, 41, Timothy E. Finfrock, 66, and Philip M. Blair, 43 — were indicted last month on federal meth-related charges. If convicted, the defendants face potential sentences ranging from 20 years to life imprisonment, depending on the counts.
Federal officials emphasized the collaboration between agencies in addressing drug crimes. Effingham Police Chief Kurt Davis said the efforts of multiple law enforcement departments “make our community safer by keeping dangerous drugs off our streets.”
