Villa Ridge, MO – A powerful EF2 tornado swept through eastern Missouri on Saturday night, leaving a trail of destruction from Villa Ridge to Fox Creek. The twister touched down at approximately 8:56 p.m., tracking northeast for over 13 miles before dissipating around 9:10 p.m.
According to the National Weather Service in St. Louis, the tornado reached a maximum width of 130 yards and caused extensive damage to homes and trees. It also led to the collapse of a microwave tower. Authorities have reported one injury but no fatalities.
The storm primarily impacted Franklin and St. Louis counties, with damage concentrated in the Villa Ridge and Wildwood areas. Local emergency teams are assessing the destruction, and cleanup efforts are already underway.
Residents are urged to remain cautious as storm surveys continue. Authorities advise securing loose debris and reporting downed power lines to utility companies. Additional severe weather is not expected in the immediate forecast, but officials recommend staying updated through local alerts.
