EF0 Tornado Strikes Clinton County, OH; Damage Report Includes Barn Destruction and Downed Trees

Clinton County, OH – A third tornado has been confirmed in Clinton County, Ohio, after severe weather affected the area during the early hours of April 3, 2025. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Wilmington issued an update regarding the EF0 tornado, which caused damage in the southern part of the county.

According to NWS Wilmington, the tornado, with estimated peak winds of 80 mph, began near Chaney Road around 1:19 AM EDT. The storm tracked through the county line, causing roof damage and knocking down large tree limbs. It continued along Weisflock Road, where a barn was overturned, and finally moved across Oakgrove Road, where another barn was destroyed, and additional tree damage occurred. The tornado path was approximately 2.7 miles long and 100 yards wide. No fatalities or injuries have been reported.

The tornado ended around 1:22 AM EDT, near 2 miles west-northwest of Lynchburg, in Clinton County. This EF0 tornado was part of a series of severe weather events that affected the region. NWS Wilmington thanked local emergency management teams for their assistance in providing key information for the damage survey.
