Spokane, Wash. – Showers and thunderstorms could wake Spokane residents early Saturday before a stretch of sunny and increasingly hot weather takes hold through next week. The National Weather Service reports a 60% chance of overnight rain that may intensify into thunderstorms after 5 a.m. Saturday, with locally heavier downpours possible.

According to the National Weather Service, showers may linger into late Saturday morning before tapering off in the afternoon. Southwest winds could gust up to 21 mph, making for unsettled conditions across Spokane County and surrounding areas. Rainfall totals should stay light, though stronger storms could briefly reduce visibility and slick roads.

Conditions turn dry by Sunday, with highs climbing to the mid-80s under full sun. Monday through Wednesday brings mostly sunny skies and highs between 86 and 90 degrees, pushing toward the low 90s by late week. Nighttime lows will remain in the mid- to upper-50s, offering some relief from the daytime heat.

Drivers are urged to use caution Saturday morning, particularly along I-90 and secondary roads, as brief heavy rain could create slick spots. Outdoor events and activities will see better weather Sunday onward, though residents should prepare for building heat by midweek.

Sunny conditions dominate the extended forecast, with little rain expected after Saturday morning.
