Spokane, WA – The National Weather Service Spokane has issued multiple Wind Advisories for much of eastern Washington, including the Spokane metro area, Palouse, Columbia Basin, and Okanogan Valley, as strong winds develop with a passing cold front Friday afternoon and evening.

  • Moses Lake, Okanogan, Waterville Plateau: Advisory from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. PDT Friday, with south winds 10–20 mph and gusts up to 45 mph.
  • Spokane, Palouse, and Northeast Mountains: Advisory from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. PDT Friday, with southwest winds 15–20 mph and gusts up to 45 mph.

Forecasters warn that gusty winds could blow down tree limbs, scatter unsecured objects, and cause isolated power outages. Sudden wind increases may make driving difficult for high-profile vehicles, especially along Highways 2, 195, and I-90.

Winds are expected to weaken overnight after the front moves east. Residents should secure outdoor items and stay alert for potential power disruptions.
