Spokane, WA – Sunshine and mid-90s highs will dominate Spokane’s Sunday, giving residents one last comfortable day before a dangerous heat wave takes hold. Afternoon temperatures near 95°F will feel hot but manageable compared to the extreme conditions expected early next week.

According to the National Weather Service, a Heat Advisory is in effect from noon Monday through 8 p.m. Tuesday, with highs approaching 98°F both days. Overnight lows in the mid-60s will offer little relief, creating hazardous conditions for vulnerable residents. The advisory covers much of eastern Washington, including Spokane, Cheney, and Liberty Lake.

Residents are urged to limit outdoor activity during peak heat hours, stay hydrated, and check on elderly neighbors. Spokane Public Libraries and local community centers will operate as cooling locations. Pets should have access to shade and water at all times.

The heat wave is expected to ease slightly by Wednesday, but highs will still reach the low 90s before dropping toward the 80s by the end of the workweek. Further advisories may be issued if temperatures remain high.
