Coeur d’Alene, ID – A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for parts of eastern Washington and north Idaho through 1 PM PST Thursday, as a mix of snow and freezing rain creates slippery travel conditions.

According to the National Weather Service in Spokane, areas including Coeur d’Alene, Post Falls, Waterville, Ritzville, and the Waterville Plateau are seeing light snow and ice accumulations. Snow totals are expected to stay under an inch, but even a light glaze of ice is leading to hazardous roadways.

Untreated roads, bridges, and overpasses are particularly slick, forecasters warn. The advisory covers major routes such as Highway 2 between Davenport and the Waterville Plateau, where freezing precipitation is expected through midday.

Motorists are urged to slow down and use caution, especially during the late-morning commute. Washington drivers can check the latest conditions at wsdot.wa.gov/travel, while Idaho travelers can dial 511 for real-time updates.

Temperatures are expected to stay near freezing before warming slightly by late afternoon, bringing gradual improvement.
