Richmond, Va. – Temperatures across Virginia are warm but manageable Monday, with gusty afternoon winds expected to make travel tricky, especially along the Eastern Shore.
According to the National Weather Service in Wakefield, highs today will reach the upper 70s to low 80s across the region, including 83°F in Richmond, Norfolk, and Windsor. Winds out of the west will strengthen through the afternoon, reaching speeds of 20 to 30 mph, particularly near the coast and over open areas.
Cities like Williamsburg, Emporia, and Petersburg will also stay dry, with only scattered clouds interrupting an otherwise sunny sky. In Louisa and Accomac, highs will stay just below 80°F, while evening lows will dip into the 50s inland and near 60°F closer to the Chesapeake Bay.
Drivers along I-64 and U.S. 460 should remain alert for crosswinds, especially in open or elevated areas. Outdoor plans are still safe, but residents should secure loose items and avoid burning due to dry conditions and wind.
