Burlington, VT – Snow showers will linger across Vermont throughout the day as lake-effect snow slowly exits the region this morning, according to the National Weather Service in Burlington. Forecasters say some areas, particularly in eastern Vermont, may see heavier bursts of snowfall by this afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service, upslope snow showers will continue across higher elevations through the early part of the day. Additional convective snow bands could develop later, bringing gusty winds and locally heavier snowfall in the afternoon. While widespread accumulation is expected to remain light, several areas could still see quick reductions in visibility under more intense snow showers.

The latest 24-hour snowfall forecast from NWS Burlington shows light accumulations across much of northern and central Vermont, with slightly higher totals possible near the Green Mountains. Despite the scattered nature of the snow bands, road conditions may vary greatly over short distances, especially on elevated or untreated surfaces.

Cool and breezy weather will remain in place across the region, with highs generally holding in the 30s. Forecasters say wind chills will make conditions feel even colder at times, especially during heavier snow showers.

Motorists should anticipate occasional slick spots and fluctuating visibility throughout the day. NWS Burlington encourages residents to monitor updated forecasts and remain aware of rapidly changing conditions as snow bands move across the state.
