Pittsburgh, PA – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Pittsburgh has issued a Wind Advisory for Eastern Tucker County, West Virginia, effective from 2 a.m. to 5 p.m. EDT Friday.
According to the NWS, west winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph are expected across higher elevations, with a few isolated gusts potentially reaching 55 mph. The advisory includes the communities of Canaan Valley, Thomas, and Davis.
Forecasters warn that the strong winds may blow down tree limbs and cause scattered power outages, especially in exposed mountain areas. Unsecured outdoor objects could be moved or damaged, and drivers of high-profile vehicles should use caution on open and elevated routes.
Winds are expected to peak Friday morning before gradually easing later in the day as the cold front exits the region. Cooler temperatures will follow into the weekend.
