Philadelphia, Pa. – Low clouds will lift across the Delaware Valley Thursday as sunshine spreads from northwest to southeast, bringing afternoon highs into the low to mid-80s. Areas closer to the Jersey Shore may stay gray longer, keeping temperatures a bit cooler.
According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, skies will turn mostly sunny by Friday with highs climbing into the upper 80s before a cold front sweeps through Friday night. That front will drop weekend temperatures back into the 70s with drier, more comfortable air.
The shift will be most noticeable across South Jersey and coastal Delaware, where lingering humidity gives way to crisp, cooler mornings. Northern and central Pennsylvania will also feel the cooldown, with daytime highs running about 10 degrees lower than Friday.
Travelers heading to the shore should be prepared for more clouds than sunshine Thursday, while inland cities like Allentown, Trenton, and Wilmington see clearer skies. Outdoor plans will be best Friday before the front arrives.
Conditions remain calm with no major hazards expected, though forecasters recommend staying hydrated during Friday’s warmth and keeping an eye on cooler evening temps into the weekend.
