Morristown, New Jersey – Snow continues to create slippery travel conditions across northern New Jersey and parts of eastern Pennsylvania Saturday, with several inches already falling and more expected before conditions improve later this afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, a Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 4 p.m. Saturday for Sussex, Warren, and Morris counties in New Jersey, along with Carbon, Monroe, Northampton, Berks, and Lehigh counties in Pennsylvania. Snow totals between 2 and 4 inches are expected across much of the region, with localized amounts up to 5 inches possible in the southern Poconos.

The greatest impacts are being felt on untreated roads, bridges, and higher elevations. Areas such as Newton, Morristown, Washington, Jim Thorpe, Stroudsburg, Bethlehem, Easton, Allentown, and Reading are seeing snow-covered roadways that may remain slick through the afternoon. Mountainous terrain in Monroe and Carbon counties is especially prone to reduced traction and slower travel speeds.

Transportation officials urge drivers to slow down, increase following distance, and allow extra time to reach destinations. Road conditions can change quickly as snow continues to fall, particularly during heavier bursts.

Snow is expected to taper later Saturday afternoon, but lingering slick spots may persist into the evening. Advisories remain in effect through late afternoon, and motorists should continue to monitor conditions before heading out.
