Philadelphia, PA – A cold front will sweep across eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware late Sunday night, bringing the potential for isolated severe thunderstorms and damaging winds, according to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly.
The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has maintained a Marginal Risk (Level 1) for severe weather through the overnight hours. Forecasters warn of gusts up to 60 mph and note that a brief tornado cannot be ruled out as the system moves west to east between 10 p.m. and 3 a.m.
Meteorologists say a narrow band of showers and isolated storms will accompany the front as it crosses the region. The primary impacts are expected to be strong wind gusts, capable of downing small branches or causing isolated power outages.
Conditions are expected to improve by early Monday morning as the front clears the coast and cooler, drier air moves in behind it. Residents are urged to secure outdoor items and stay weather-aware overnight, especially in areas under stronger thunderstorm activity.
