Tulsa, Oklahoma – Triple-digit heat will grip Tulsa again Friday as highs soar to 100°F and the heat index pushes 106°F, prompting the National Weather Service to extend a Heat Advisory through 8 p.m. Friday for Tulsa County and much of eastern Oklahoma. Outdoor exposure could become dangerous during peak afternoon hours.

According to the NWS in Tulsa, south winds between 10–15 mph and gusts up to 25 mph will do little to offer relief as humidity levels amplify the heat risk. Thursday’s advisory began at 1 p.m. and rolls directly into Friday, continuing the trend of sweltering, sun-drenched afternoons with minimal overnight cooling.

Thursday: Sunny and hot with highs near 98°F, heat index around 105°F.
Friday: Highs at 100°F, heat index up to 106°F. South winds gusting to 25 mph.
Saturday: Still hot but slightly cooler — 99°F high, mostly sunny skies.
Sunday: High of 97°F with lighter winds and clearer skies.
Monday: Slight relief possible with highs near 94°F, partly cloudy by night.

Residents are urged to stay indoors during peak hours, drink plenty of fluids, and check on elderly neighbors or those without air conditioning. Outdoor workers should take frequent breaks and wear light clothing.

The extended heatwave could persist through the weekend. Additional advisories are likely if daytime highs continue trending above seasonal norms.
