Tulsa, Oklahoma – Warm, breezy weather will dominate eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas this weekend, bringing both sunshine and an increased risk of grass fires, especially west of Highway 75. Winds could gust up to 30 mph Saturday and Sunday as temperatures climb near 90°F.

According to the National Weather Service in Tulsa, dry and mild weather will continue through Sunday before a boundary shifts south Monday, introducing a slight chance of thunderstorms. Until then, fire danger remains a concern across open areas, with relative humidity dropping and winds strengthening through each afternoon.

Residents are urged to avoid outdoor burning, secure lightweight outdoor items, and use caution when operating vehicles or machinery near dry grass. Spotter activation is not expected, but emergency managers are monitoring for potential fire starts if winds increase.

Looking ahead, Monday brings a brief thunderstorm chance mainly over northwest Arkansas and far eastern Oklahoma, followed by another stretch of clear, mild weather through midweek.
