Tulsa, OK – Cooler-than-average temperatures are expected today across eastern Oklahoma and northwestern Arkansas, offering a brief respite from the summer heat. Afternoon highs will range from the mid-80s to low 90s, with McAlester reaching up to 90°F, according to the National Weather Service in Tulsa. Residents can expect mostly sunny skies with low humidity, making it an ideal day for outdoor activities.
However, the mild weather won’t last. According to the latest forecast, temperatures are set to rise again later in the week. By Friday, highs in Tulsa are expected to climb to 94°F, and by Saturday, they could reach a sweltering 97°F. Similar patterns are expected in McAlester and Fort Smith, with temperatures nearing the mid-to-upper 90s over the weekend. Fayetteville will experience slightly lower highs, peaking in the mid-90s.
Overnight lows will also rise, with temperatures in the low 70s expected by Saturday night. As the weekend heat approaches, residents are advised to stay hydrated and limit outdoor activities during peak afternoon hours.
