Tulsa, OK – A damp start to the weekend is expected across eastern Oklahoma today as scattered showers develop along the I-40 corridor. Residents may experience light rain and patchy fog through mid-morning, particularly near McAlester and Hugo, before drier weather takes over later this afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in Tulsa, the chance of thunderstorms is minimal, but residents in southeastern Oklahoma should remain alert for isolated storms. Saturday’s high is projected to reach 58°F, with overcast skies and calm winds prevailing throughout the day.

Sunday brings a welcome change, with mostly sunny skies and temperatures climbing to 64°F. Winds will stay light, making it an ideal day for outdoor plans. Heading into New Year’s Eve, temperatures are expected to dip to 42°F overnight under partly cloudy conditions.

The extended forecast promises mostly clear skies for the first half of New Year’s week. Monday will be unseasonably warm, with a high near 63°F, though gusty northwest winds could reach 25 mph in the afternoon. By Tuesday, temperatures will cool to 49°F under sunny skies, and overnight lows will drop to the upper 20s.

For those planning New Year’s celebrations, clear skies and a high near 46°F are expected on Wednesday, ensuring a bright start to 2025. Residents should plan accordingly for colder overnight conditions as temperatures dip below freezing early in the week.
