Pittsburgh, PA – A winter weather advisory has been issued for eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania, warning of slippery road conditions due to a mix of snow and ice early Saturday morning.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Pittsburgh, the advisory is in effect from 4 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday for areas including Tuscarawas, Carroll, and Columbiana counties in Ohio, as well as Mercer, Venango, and Butler counties in Pennsylvania. Higher elevations in Westmoreland and Fayette counties may see impacts until 1 p.m., while parts of Clarion, Jefferson, and Indiana counties could experience icy conditions until 5 p.m.
Total snow accumulations of up to two inches and a light glaze of ice are expected. Forecasters warn that untreated roads, sidewalks, and driveways will become slick, increasing the risk of travel disruptions and falls.
Residents are advised to slow down and use caution while driving. Those venturing outside should be mindful of icy surfaces. Reports of snow or ice accumulations can be shared with NWS Pittsburgh via social media or by calling 412-262-1988.
