Pittsburgh, PA – Damaging wind gusts could sweep across southwestern Pennsylvania, eastern Ohio, and northern West Virginia Friday night as strong thunderstorms move through the region between 7 p.m. and 2 a.m. Saturday.
According to the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh, storms are expected to enter the area around 7–8 p.m., with the Pittsburgh metro most likely impacted between 9–10 p.m. A Level 1 (Marginal Risk) has been issued for the tri-state region, indicating low but notable confidence in isolated severe storms capable of producing damaging winds.
Areas from East Liverpool, Ohio to Morgantown, West Virginia and into Washington and Westmoreland counties in Pennsylvania could see isolated tree damage, power outages, and slick road conditions. Commuters and Friday night eventgoers are urged to stay weather-aware and have multiple ways to receive warnings, especially if traveling after dark.
Residents should secure outdoor furniture, charge devices, and avoid unnecessary driving during active storms.
Storms are expected to exit the region by early Saturday morning, but additional alerts may be issued if conditions intensify.
