Pittsburgh, PA – As August draws to a close, residents should prepare for a significant change in weather. Following an unusually cool spell, temperatures are expected to surge starting Saturday.

Saturday will mark the return of summer heat, with highs reaching around 87°F under mostly sunny skies. The humidity will increase, making it feel even hotter. There is a slight chance of scattered thunderstorms in the late afternoon, though these are expected to be isolated.

Sunday will be equally hot, with temperatures again reaching the mid-80s. Humidity will remain high, contributing to a heat index that feels closer to 90°F. Conditions will remain mostly sunny, offering little relief from the heat.

As we move into the workweek, the heat will persist. Monday through Wednesday will see highs in the mid to upper 80s, with the possibility of hitting 90°F by midweek. Nights will provide limited relief, with lows only dropping into the mid-60s.

Residents are advised to stay hydrated and limit outdoor activities during peak hours. The next noticeable cooldown isn’t expected until late next week, so prepare for a stretch of hot and humid days ahead.
