Eastern Ohio, Northwestern Pennsylvania, and West Virginia – Residents should prepare for severe weather on Monday, with more intense conditions, including isolated tornadoes and damaging winds, expected on Tuesday.
According to the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh, Monday will bring afternoon and evening storms with potential for damaging winds and heavy downpours. The forecast covers eastern Ohio, western Pennsylvania, and the WV panhandle. These storms are expected to develop between 3 p.m. and 11 p.m.
While Monday’s storms present a marginal risk, Tuesday’s outlook is more concerning. Isolated tornadoes and significant damaging winds are predicted for Tuesday afternoon and evening, with the best chances in the Zanesville and New Philadelphia areas. Residents should remain vigilant and monitor updates closely.
Additionally, high heat indices are expected throughout both days, reaching up to 100°F on Monday. This heat, combined with severe weather, poses an increased risk for the region.
The extended forecast shows a slight relief starting Wednesday with a high of 81°F and a 55% chance of rain. Temperatures will remain more seasonable, with highs in the low 80s through the rest of the week.
