Grand Forks, N.D. – Residents in Grand Forks and East Grand Forks can expect a breezy warm-up Friday with highs near 77 degrees before stronger south-southeast winds build into the weekend. Gusts could top 30 mph during the day, adding a noticeable edge to otherwise dry and sunny conditions.

According to the National Weather Service in Grand Forks, skies will stay mostly clear Saturday with highs near 73, while winds shift from the west at a lighter 8 to 10 mph. Temperatures climb again Sunday, reaching close to 79 under full sun before holding steady in the lower 80s on Monday.

The next weather shift arrives Monday night into Tuesday when a slight chance of showers develops, with storm potential increasing as southeast winds strengthen up to 20 mph. By Tuesday evening, the area may see more widespread rain activity, bringing relief from several days of dry skies.

Travelers should plan for reduced visibility during gusty winds this weekend, especially on rural highways. Those attending outdoor events should also secure tents and light equipment ahead of the stronger winds expected Saturday.

The unsettled pattern may linger into midweek, with additional shower chances through Wednesday.
