Morehead City, N.C. – Eastern North Carolina will enjoy a warm and comfortable weekend with sunshine and highs reaching the upper 70s to low 80s across much of the region. Outdoor plans along the coast, including Emerald Isle and the Outer Banks, should go uninterrupted through Sunday evening.

According to the National Weather Service office in Newport/Morehead City, skies will stay partly sunny with mild nights in the upper 60s to low 70s. Rain chances remain minimal until late Sunday night, when a system begins moving into the Carolinas, bringing scattered showers by early Monday morning.

Residents from Jacksonville to New Bern can expect dry roads and light breezes through Sunday. Beaches should see steady conditions for swimmers and boaters, though rip current risks may rise as winds shift ahead of the incoming system. By Monday, a 40% chance of showers will make for slower commutes and potentially wet morning travel.

Those heading outdoors this weekend are encouraged to take advantage of the calm stretch before rain returns. Conditions may turn unsettled again into early next week as additional showers linger.
