North Carolina – After a cool and wet start to the week, North Carolina is shifting into spring-like conditions with rising temperatures and mostly sunny skies. By Wednesday, many areas, including Newport and Belville, will see highs in the low to mid-70s, bringing a welcome break from the recent rain and wind.

According to the National Weather Service, overnight showers will clear out by early Tuesday, with skies gradually becoming sunny. Highs will reach 70°F in Newport and 75°F in Belville on Wednesday. Winds will be light, shifting from the north to the south as the week progresses.

By Thursday and Friday, temperatures will hold steady in the low to mid-70s with mostly sunny skies. Mornings will be crisp, with lows in the upper 40s and low 50s. Weekend conditions remain mild, with Saturday reaching the mid-70s, though cloud cover will increase by Sunday. A chance of showers returns late Sunday into early Monday.

Travelers and commuters can expect dry roads through most of the week, making for smooth travel on key routes like U.S. 70 and U.S. 17. While the weekend brings a slight chance of rain, no severe weather is in the forecast.

Residents should take advantage of the mild spring weather for outdoor activities before rain chances increase early next week.
