Morehead City, NC – Eastern North Carolina will enjoy one more calm and cool weekend before a stretch of wet and windy weather arrives early next week.

According to the National Weather Service Newport/Morehead City, Saturday and Sunday will remain dry and seasonably cool, with temperatures near normal for late October. However, forecasters say multiple complex systems are expected to impact the area beginning early next week, bringing periods of rain and gusty winds through much of the week.

A multi-centered coastal low could develop near the coast early in the week, followed by a stronger frontal system approaching from the west later in the week. Rain chances increase to 40–50% by Tuesday, particularly along the coast from Rodanthe to Jacksonville.

Despite the active pattern, meteorologists currently expect a dry forecast for Halloween, offering a break in the rain just in time for trick-or-treating.

Residents are encouraged to monitor forecasts for updates as timing and intensity of the systems become clearer.
