New York, NY – Eastern New York is gearing up for a week of sweltering temperatures and intermittent rain showers as the region experiences a continuation of the recent heatwave. The National Weather Service has predicted that high temperatures will persist, with daily highs reaching into the 90s through Friday. Residents can expect sunny skies and hot conditions today, with a high of 92°F. Overnight lows will drop to around 68°F, offering some relief.

Friday will see similar conditions, with temperatures peaking at 91°F under partly cloudy skies. However, a change in the weather pattern is expected over the weekend. Saturday brings a 60% chance of showers, especially in the afternoon, as cooler air begins to move into the region. Temperatures will drop slightly to a high of 86°F.

Sunday’s forecast suggests a continued likelihood of rain, with a 50% chance of showers and highs in the mid-80s. The cooling trend continues into early next week, with highs dropping to the low 80s by Monday and mid-70s by Tuesday. Rain chances will taper off mid-week, with partly cloudy skies expected by Wednesday.
