Albany, NY – A quick-moving clipper system will bring light snow to parts of eastern New York and western New England this afternoon through early Monday, according to the National Weather Service in Albany.

Forecasters say snow will first move into locations north and west of the Capital Region by late afternoon, with temperatures ranging from the mid-20s to mid-30s. Most areas are expected to see a dusting to around 3 inches of accumulation, though slightly higher totals are possible across the western Adirondacks and southern Green Mountains.

The NWS noted that snow could lead to slick roads and reduced visibility overnight, especially during the Monday morning commute. Motorists are advised to use caution on secondary and untreated roads.

After the system passes, temperatures are expected to remain chilly through Monday before moderating midweek. The next chance for light precipitation may arrive by the middle of the week.
