Albany, NY – Cooler midweek conditions are expected to give way to a soggier and slightly warmer weekend across eastern New York and southern Vermont, with widespread showers and rising temperatures forecast through Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service in Albany, precipitation chances remain low through Thursday, but begin increasing Friday evening, peaking across the region on Saturday. Cities like Cobleskill, Herkimer, and Glens Falls could see rain probabilities reach 70–75% Saturday morning into the afternoon. By Sunday, much of the region, including Poughkeepsie, Albany, and Bennington, will experience continued precipitation chances between 55% and 65%.

Temperatures will hover below normal through Friday, with highs ranging from the upper 30s to mid-40s. Starting Saturday, the area warms up gradually, with daytime highs reaching the upper 40s and low 50s. By Sunday, most cities in the region—including Kingston and Whitehall—will see highs approaching or slightly exceeding 60°F, trending above average for late March.

Drivers should anticipate slick roads during peak rainfall periods, particularly Saturday morning. Residents are advised to monitor local alerts and prepare for possible travel delays and minor street flooding in low-lying areas. Rain gear and layered clothing are recommended through the weekend.
