Omaha, NE – The National Weather Service in Omaha/Valley reports that dense fog has developed early Saturday morning across eastern Nebraska, significantly reducing visibility to less than half a mile in several locations.
The fog is most widespread across east-central counties, including Lincoln, Fremont, Norfolk, and Omaha, and is expected to linger into midmorning before gradually lifting as temperatures rise.
Motorists are urged to use low-beam headlights, reduce speed, and allow extra following distance on roadways, particularly along Interstate 80 and Highway 77, where visibility may be sharply reduced in patches.
No advisories for freezing fog are in effect, but drivers should remain alert for slick spots on bridges or overpasses due to moisture buildup. Conditions will improve later this morning, leading to partly cloudy skies and seasonable temperatures this afternoon.
