Glasgow, Montana – A quiet and mild start to the week across eastern Montana is about to shift, with rain and snow moving in by Tuesday night and gusty winds set to impact travel by Wednesday afternoon.
According to the National Weather Service in Glasgow, dry conditions hold through Monday and much of Tuesday, with highs climbing from the low 50s into the upper 50s and low 60s across communities including Glasgow, Glendive, and Sidney. That changes Tuesday night as a warm front brings the first round of precipitation into the region.
Rain and snow chances increase into Wednesday, with probabilities reaching up to 40 to 65 percent in areas like Plentywood and Poplar. While accumulation looks light, brief bursts could reduce visibility and create slick stretches on Highways 2 and 13, especially during early morning and evening hours.
By Wednesday afternoon, a cold front pushes through, shifting winds to the northwest and increasing gusts that may impact high-profile vehicles along open roadways. Temperatures drop sharply into Thursday, with highs falling back into the 30s and 40s.
Conditions dry out again heading into Friday and Saturday, with a return to more seasonable temperatures. Additional updates are expected as midweek precipitation chances and wind impacts become clearer.
