Springfield, Missouri – Drivers across the eastern Ozarks could face reduced visibility through 9 a.m. Tuesday as patchy morning fog settles into valley areas along U.S. Route 60 and nearby highways.

According to the National Weather Service in Springfield, fog developed early this morning across south-central Missouri, especially in low-lying regions near towns like Salem, Eminence, and Van Buren. While visibility is not expected to drop to dangerous levels, it may be slightly reduced in pockets—especially on rural roads and curves where drivers may have limited reaction time.

Motorists heading east from Springfield or navigating through Texas, Dent, Shannon, and Carter counties should keep headlights on low beam and allow extra travel time. Foggy spots may suddenly appear, particularly in shaded or wooded sections of the road.

The fog is expected to lift shortly after sunrise, with conditions improving by late morning. No widespread travel disruptions are expected, but caution is advised during early commutes. Additional advisories are unlikely today unless new visibility concerns develop.
