Boston, MA — A dense fog advisory early Monday is impacting travel across Massachusetts, with visibility dropping below a quarter mile on major roadways.

According to the National Weather Service in Boston, the advisory remains in effect until 9 a.m. EDT. Areas of concern include I-95, I-90, and Route 128, where fog could make morning commutes especially dangerous. Drivers are urged to reduce speed, use low-beam headlights, and allow extra time. The fog primarily affects eastern and central Massachusetts, northern Rhode Island, and parts of northern Connecticut.

Light rain will continue through Monday morning, followed by heavier rainfall expected Monday night. Thunderstorms could develop overnight, producing up to an inch of rainfall in some areas. Temperatures will reach a high near 67°F before falling to the low 40s Monday night.

Looking ahead, Tuesday brings a 30% chance of showers in the morning, tapering off by midday as skies begin to clear. Highs will remain near 51°F. Winds will pick up slightly Tuesday night under mostly clear skies with lows around 30°F.

The rest of the week offers milder and drier conditions. Wednesday is expected to be mostly sunny with a high of 45°F. Clouds return Thursday with scattered showers and a high near 56°F. Warmer air arrives Friday with highs in the upper 60s under mostly cloudy skies.
