Baltimore, MD – A wet and foggy start to the week will impact much of Maryland, with rain and patchy fog lingering through Tuesday morning. Commuters in Baltimore and travelers on I-70 are urged to use caution as reduced visibility and slick roadways could complicate travel plans.
According to the National Weather Service, Monday will bring light rain, with patchy fog persisting until around 11 a.m. A chance of additional rain showers remains in the forecast for late afternoon. Highs will reach the upper 40s, with calm winds shifting southeast at 5 mph. Visibility may drop during peak commute hours, particularly in low-lying areas and along major routes like I-70 and I-95.
Monday night will see a continuation of rain, primarily before 4 a.m., with overnight lows holding near 47 degrees. Southeast winds will pick up slightly, creating light breezes through the area.
By Tuesday morning, dense fog may persist, especially near waterways and valleys. After the fog lifts, conditions will gradually improve, leading to a mostly sunny afternoon with a dramatic warm-up. Highs will climb to the low 60s, offering a brief reprieve from the cooler start to the week.
Wednesday will see another round of unsettled weather as showers move in, particularly during the afternoon. Temperatures will remain mild, reaching highs in the low 50s. By Thursday, mostly sunny skies will return, and temperatures will hover near 47 degrees.
Drivers and pedestrians should remain vigilant for foggy mornings and wet pavement through midweek. Local agencies encourage caution during travel to avoid weather-related delays or incidents.
