Jackson, KY – A slow-moving cold front is bringing showers and storms to Eastern Kentucky today, but the weekend promises clearer skies before temperatures soar into the high 90s on Monday.

According to the US National Weather Service in Jackson, KY, showers and storms are likely today, with temperatures ranging between 85-93 degrees. The precipitation chance stands at 80-90%. As the cold front moves out, high pressure will build, leading to sunny and warm conditions for the weekend.

Saturday will start with morning fog, giving way to sunny skies and temperatures between 84-89 degrees. Sunday is expected to be sunny, with temperatures ranging from 87-92 degrees. However, the highlight of the forecast is Monday’s significant temperature spike.

Highs on Monday are forecasted to reach 89-96 degrees, with a slight chance of showers and storms in the evening. Overnight lows will remain warm, between 64-70 degrees. The heatwave will persist into Tuesday, with a 40% chance of showers and a high of 87 degrees.

Residents are advised to stay hydrated, limit outdoor activities during peak heat, and be cautious of heat-related illnesses as temperatures approach the high 90s.
