Jackson, KY – A cold front sweeping through Kentucky is set to bring isolated snow showers to the region Thursday evening into Friday morning. While snow accumulations will remain under half an inch, localized and intense bursts of snow may create sudden visibility issues.

According to the National Weather Service in Jackson, areas impacted include cities such as Morehead, Mount Sterling, London, Hazard, and Pikeville. Snow showers may also lead to slick spots on roads and walkways, particularly overnight.

The affected counties include Fleming, Bath, Rowan, Pulaski, Laurel, Bell, Perry, and others across eastern Kentucky. Drivers are urged to use caution when traveling tonight, as untreated roads could develop icy patches. Visibility could also drop sharply during periods of heavier snow.

Temperatures are expected to remain below freezing, increasing the risk of hazardous conditions into the Friday morning commute. Residents are encouraged to allow extra time for travel and to avoid sudden braking on icy surfaces.

The cold front is forecast to clear the area by late Friday morning, bringing an end to snow showers and improving road conditions as temperatures gradually rise.
